King County Housing Authority is currently recruiting for a Sustainability/Resource Conservation Intern. The successful candidate will support KCHA's efforts to improve recycling, composting, decreasing garbage and recycling contamination. Additionally, the Intern will be assisting in energy meter verification at multifamily buildings.

Typical job duties may include:
Verifying electric and gas meter account numbers by visiting KCHA properties, logging meter numbers, and documenting the meter locations.
Reviewing electric and gas meters in Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) MyData system to verify that meter data collected at properties matches the meter data in the system.
Supporting utility data management by completing utility data lookups and contacting utilities on behalf of KCHA.
Verifying and collecting property information related to recycling, composting, irrigation systems, or other areas of interest to the Resource Conservation department.
Contacting property management staff and waste haulers to collect information about solid waste service.
Assisting with staff and resident surveys or outreach to help improve sustainability knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Required Qualifications:
Current enrollment or recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate level degree program in environmental or sustainability focus, AND
Demonstrated experience with data management and field research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A high level of curiosity and creativity.
Basic experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.
