Governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, OHSA is a nationally recognized leader in developing innovative and accessible low-income housing, serving over 63,000 people in San Antonio.
OHSA owns and manages approximately 6,000 public housing units at 74 properties, 4,400 mixed-income units at 31 properties, and 7,600 units at 36 properties through non-profit entities and partnerships. The agency administers about 14,000 Federal Housing Choice (Section 8) rental assistance vouchers. OHSA has nearly 600 FTEs, an annual operating budget of $250 million, and a current value of more than $500 million in assets, and is a designated “Moving-to-Work” agency.
OHSA is currently seeking highly qualified candidates to join the agency’s leadership team as the Senior Director of Development Services and Neighborhood Revitalization (DSNR). The Senior Director reports to the Chief Real Estate and Development Officer, who is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of real estate matters. The responsibilities of the Senior Director of DSNR include managing, coordinating, and overseeing organization-wide development and special development projects. This includes all aspects, from site selection and acquisition to feasibility analysis, design, construction, financing, marketing, and resident leasing, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, Real Estate, or a related field is required, along with at least twelve (12) years of experience in multifamily construction, encompassing project planning, design, renovation, and development. Five (5) years of management experience and completion of training within 18 months of hire for NDC Affordable Housing Finance Professional, Fair Housing, and Senior Public Housing Manager Certifications is required. Additionally, must complete training in Green and Sustainability Initiatives within 24 months of hire.
Additional requirements include the ability to use cloud applications such as the Google GSuite and Microsoft Office 365 applications, and possession of a Texas Class “C” driver’s license at the time of placement. Must be insurable by the agency’s liability and fleet insurance carrier. Successful completion of a criminal
history background check, education verification, work history verification, and a drug screening test is required.
