We are currently recruiting for a talented and experienced Senior Accounting Technician to join the Asset Management team in Tukwila, Washington. As a critical component in achieving the mission of the Authority, our Asset Management Department is committed to working collaboratively across the agency to ensure that timely and accurate financial data is available whenever needed to support all housing programs and opportunities.

Essential Functions
The Senior Accounting Technician is an important member of the Asset Management team and is responsible for a variety of cash management, data entry, and accounting functions including developing bank relationships and establishing bank account services; bank account reconciliation and cash accounting; customer service and data entry skills, and general ledger accounting. Knowledge and experience in bank account management and cash accounting will be important as this individual will be responsible for:
Cash Management
Bank account and bank account services management.
Bank account reconciliations and cash accounting.
Manage and monitor cash transactions, initiate payments.
Compile weekly and monthly cash transaction reports.
Research and resolve deposit errors, cash accounting errors, account services issues.
General Accounting
Direct/recommend general ledger entries.
Maintain general ledger crosswalks.
Prepare and post monthly general ledger net changes.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
Experience & Education
Associate's Degree AND
Considerable experience in general accounting, administrative work, OR
An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Accounts payable experience is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and employ fraud prevention techniques.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to place a high priority on professional excellence.
Demonstrated experience maintaining records (manual and electronic) and performing data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Clearly and effectively communicates both verbally and in writing by actively listening and sharing relevant information.
Proficiency using MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, database software, and other analytical software programs.
Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
Exercises independent judgment using analysis, experience, and perspective in solving problems or communicating decisions or actions.
Ability to work effectively and positively with individuals of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
A collaborative team member with ability to develop effective working relationships.
Special Requirements:
Consent to and pass credit and criminal records background check.
Position will require occasional travel off-site for KCHA business needs.

Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position is $36.32 - $44.49 hourly dependent on qualifications and professional experience. The complete salary range for this position is $36.32 - $52.67 hourly. Performance based merit increase opportunities and Cost of Living Adjustments (COLAs) are reviewed on an annual basis. Work Environment:
After initial onboarding, this position will have the opportunity to work remotely up to 60% in accordance with the KCHA's flexible work arrangements; however, remote work conditions will be reviewed on a regular basis based on business and program need. Employees must reside in Washington State and the ability to report to the Central Office in Tukwila will be required. Some local and domestic travel may be required to support KCHA business needs.
