The V.I. Housing Authority has begun a $117 million rehabilitation of the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion housing community, kickstarting the authority’s revamp of affordable housing in the territory.
The project is being undertaken in concert with stateside company MDG Design + Construction to achieve a new look for the 248-unit affordable housing development located at the corner of Centerline Road and Sandy Point Road in Frederiksted, St. Croix.

While we may not know the full extent of the damage caused by Hurricane Ida or the California wildfires, our thoughts immediately turn to the most vulnerable segments of our population: low-income families and those who risk displacement from their homes.
The Council of Large Public Housing Authorities and its entire membership supports providing assistance in every way we can to colleagues, partners, friends, and housing residents who have been affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Ida and the wildfires in California.

Lack of water and power has not made weathering the recent winter storm easy in San Antonio.
Some Texans have lost all power, some are without water, and many are lining up outside H-E-Bs across the state to buy food, propane and bottled water.
There are a few warming centers in the city, including two prepared by the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA).
