Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA)
From the Miami Herald:
Miami-Dade County officials gathered Friday to hail their success in spending $60.8 million in federal emergency rental assistance, which they said has translated to helping more than 6,000 area families stay in their homes.
The assistance helped provide a bridge as uncertainty continued to reign about the threat of evictions.
From CBS 8 San Diego:
Mayor Todd Gloria highlighted Monday what he is touting as the success of the city's COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program and announced a proposal to establish a $5 million legal defense fund to support struggling tenants.
As the September 30 deadline quickly approaches for when the U.S. Treasury Department must begin to recapture and reallocate funds from grantees unwilling or unable to spend down from the original Emergency Rental Assistance Program (known as ERA1), the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is helping unlock ERA funds for its residents. However, several other PHAs continue to encounter obstacles with the program.
