From ABC 10 News San Diego:
The San Diego Housing Commission says it broke ground Thursday on 42 affordable apartments that veterans experiencing homelessness can take advantage of.
The press release says the development, located on 47th Street in the Chollas View neighborhood, is expected to be finished in the spring of 2024. The site is east of I-805 and within walking distance of Metropolitan Transit System bus routes and the 47th Street trolley station.

HUD recently sent the following announcement to PHAs regarding new resources that can help PHAs and State Medicaid Agencies house seniors and persons with disabilities:
The Housing Authority of Washington County, a new CLPHA member and a Department of Washington County, Oregon, recently joined HUD’s House America through proclamation of the County Board of Commissioners. HAWC, which also recently joined the Moving to Work (MTW) program, is aggressively working to reduce homelessness in its jurisdiction. A recent voter-approved Supportive Housing Services (SHS) measure is bringing $200 million a year to the region to reduce homelessness. The measure is in place for ten years.

Two affordable housing projects – one nearing completion and one in the planning stages –recently received grants from the Washington State Department of Commerce.
The city of Vancouver received $1,059,085 for Laurel Manor and $161,907 for The Meridian to cover sewer, water or stormwater improvements and/or waive system development charges.
